MAPUTO, Mozambique – May 23, 2023 – Oceana Distribution has chosen the Agility Logistics Park in Maputo, the leading warehouse facility in Mozambique’s capital, as the location for its new office, storage and distribution facility in the country. The newly opened 5,000 SQM facility is designed to handle more than 3,000 pallet positions. State-of-the-art Riyadh warehouse recognized for energy-efficient design RIYADH – NOV. 9, 2022 – Agility, a supply chain services, infrastructure and innovation company, announced that a warehouse at its Agility Logistics Park complex in Riyadh is the first building in Saudi Arabia as well as the first warehouse in the GCC to receive EDGE Advanced certification as a green building. EDGE (Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies) is the global standard for energy-efficient buildings, a certification system overseen by the International Finance Corp. (IFC), an arm of the World Bank. Basic certification requires a minimum projected reduction of 20% energy use, water use and “embodied energy” in materials as benchmarked against a standard local building. Agility said it will build a large logistics park for storage and distribution near Jeddah as part of a land-concession agreement announced by Saudi Arabia’s State Properties General Administration (SPGA).

Agility has opened a new Agility Logistics Park in Maputo, adding to its growing network of international-standard warehouse parks serving key African markets.

Geoffrey White, CEO of Agility Africa, dropped into The C Suite to talk with Bronwyn Nielsen of The Nielsen Network. In this interview, Geoffrey discusses how the pandemic has slowed down global trade yet the demand for warehousing is strong as ecommerce picks up across the African continent. He also mentions how in Africa the pandemic wasn’t as devastating as predicted, paving the way for emerging markets there to make a sharp recovery.
