West Africa’s expanding middle class and growing prosperity have caught the attention of global automakers. Volkswagen is expanding operations in Ghana so it can begin assembly of SKD kits that will allow it to grow sales of vehicles in the region. VW is using ALP Ghana to store kits that will be assembled at its Accra plant. The vehicles will initially be for the Ghana market before VW begins exporting to other markets in West Africa.
